FAQs

When and where is the wedding?

Our wedding will be held on Monday 12th January in Matakana, north of Auckland. While we’re still working through the ceremony specifics the day will begin at Riverside and we will end up at Brick Bay Matakana for our reception.

Riverside address: 70 Green Road, Matakana

Brick Bay address: 17 Arabella Lane, Snells Beach 0982, New Zealand

How do I get to Brick Bay?

We will organise transport to and from Riverside accommodation and our
reception at Brick Bay. If you’re keen to take your own car and drive there’s plenty of parking options available.

What’s the dress code?

New Zealand will (hopefully) be peak summer so it can get quite hot during
the day and a little colder at night. We want you to be comfortable and
feel fabulous, we aren’t going black tie or overly formal. Think warm summery cocktail or garden party.

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

A bit of both! Our ceremony, nibbles and cocktails will be outside so you can all soak up some beautiful North Island nature scenes. We’ll then move inside for dinner and dancing.

When do I need to RSVP by?

If you’d like us to book accommodation for you, please RSVP by July 2025 latest as we need to get things booked.

Is there a gift registry?

Absolutely NOT! You are all travelling in some form to get to us in the location of our choosing, taking time off work and spending so much to be with us on the day.

We really want you all to enjoy everything the region has to offer. So please put your pounds and dollars towards wineries in the region, oyster trips, beach days and seeing everything there is to offer.

Travel & Accommodation

Where should I stay if I’m coming from out of town/overseas?

Matakana is a 50-minute drive from Auckland and there’s also lots of different accommodation in the area and surrounding beaches.

Is there a block of rooms reserved for guests?

Yes we have reserved 12 for now, from the 11th January to the 13th and also 14th of January.

The baches have three double rooms and can accommodate up to four people in each (The maths is strange we know!). We promise you won’t be put with any strangers - no wild cards!

Do I need a car?

As with lots of places in New Zealand, public transport and trains are very limited if not non-existent. We will be organising transport on the day (12th) to and from the Reception.

We’d recommend a car to get up from Auckland and explore the region but there will be a few people travelling up with cars so let Ben/Lucy/Charlotte/Simon know and I’m sure we can help with transport.

Otherwise, there is a bus from Auckland to Warkworth (near Matakana), but there are local taxis around the area. Uber hasn’t yet arrived.
